automobile’ does not dissent from Nevada Red’s philosophy of the in-your-face truth; its catchy hook has all of us ‘getting, sliding and vibing’ in her automobile. We are dealing with a pumping, fierce and energetic synth-driven track inspired by a futuristic metropolis like Tokyo – creating a sound (and mood) that simply hits you instantaneously.

She explains the messages behind her latest single: “automobile started in an Uber, my driver literally welcomed me in his car saying something like ‘bienvenida en mi coche, en mi casa’ which means welcome in my “house-car”. i really loved that. and i started writing a song about cars and what do they mean for different people. for some men they are just as important as their children, for some teenagers they are the only place where they can explore intimacy; i love how we all have a different relationship with cars, and automobile i guess is my own.”

The singer recalls the production of ‘automobile’: originally self-produced by herself and Future Humans, the single was conceptualised as a statement of taking back power, as a woman, in a place where women are still outnumbered by men. ‘i don’t believe in hating men, i love men, but i do have loud things to say about how ridiculous some concepts still are, i like challenging them with my music.’
